Dear Friends,
Serving our community on the San Carlos City Council, including two terms as Mayor, has been a great honor. Together we have built a clear vision for our future, and important work remains to bring it to life. That is why I am thrilled to announce that I am running for re-election to the City Council this November.
I am proud of what we have accomplished over the past eight years. As Mayor in 2022, I led our community as we recovered from the pandemic, supporting outdoor dining, small business grants and a Shop Local campaign, and offering food and rental assistance for neighbors in need. As Mayor again in 2025, I helped guide our Centennial celebrations while advancing critical infrastructure work, including improved roads, sidewalks, bike lanes, crosswalk signals, and safe routes to school. We opened the new Fire Station 16 and added open space trail connections in our parks. We broke ground on new housing at Cherry Street Commons, which will soon welcome 33 new families downtown. I also led efforts to expand much-needed child care infrastructure, launching a development impact fee that has funded the creation of more than 150 new child care spots since 2024.
Over the last eight years we have also planned boldly for the future. We adopted a Downtown Streetscape Master Plan reflecting our community’s vision for our downtown, a Parks Master Plan charting two decades of park improvements, and a Northeast Area Specific Plan to guide development for generations to come.
There is more to do. We must continue improving our aging infrastructure and parks, tackle traffic and parking concerns, find real solutions on affordable housing, and keep our public safety resources fully funded. I will continue to take a strong stance on development projects to ensure they include meaningful community benefits that positively impact San Carlos. We must preserve the values and characteristics that make San Carlos a unique and cherished place to call home.
I am running for re-election to remain a strong voice for our community, taking a proactive, pragmatic approach to today's needs while preparing to meet the challenges ahead. Serving on the City Council has been a great privilege, and I hope to earn your support to continue this important work.
